A Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) born striker who is currently playing in Zambia has attracted interest from two top PSL sides, the Siya crew has been informed.

Siya sources close to the player have indicated that 22-year-old Andy Bobwa Boyeli, who is on the books of Power Dynamos, could be monitored by both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

The source added that both clubs may want to bring in a striker as soon as they can and that Boyeli is a possibility.

"Currently, he is the most lethal striker in Zambia and it's not surprising that big clubs, top teams are interested in him. He is still young and has a lot to learn in the game and whether he moves to Sundowns or Pirates it will be a great story for both the player and the club that would have signed him," said the Siya source.

"I am not sure who saw him first but you know both clubs have scouts in that part of Africa and they have signed players from there before. So, Boyile would not be the first one to come to South Africa if all goes well," the source told Soccer Laduma.

A second source added that both teams need a striker and rates Boyile to succeed in South Africa.

"You know Pirates have been looking for a striker since the start of the season and the same with Sundowns who are also interested in Cape Town City's Khanyisa Mayo," said the second source.

"So, maybe if they get Boyile then they will back off from Mayo. But since there are two teams interested in him let's wait and see how things will unfold first and that's when we can see what's the next move for each one of them.

"Right now both clubs are interested in Boyile," the source observed.

Last season Boyile won the Zambia Super League Player of the Season as well as the Top Goalscorer award.

The player's representative, P Management's spokesperson Vincent Phiri has confirmed interest from two Premiership clubs but could neither deny nor confirm that if the clubs are Sundowns and Pirates.

"We are hoping to secure him a move in South Africa in January 2024. He is ready for the PSL and we know this is the right time for him to move and we will make sure that by January he has a team in South Africa and whoever signs him won't regret it," Phiri told Soccer Laduma.
