Kaizer Chiefs could finally be in a position to acquire an ideal replacement for former centre-back Siyabonga Ngezana.
Chiefs bided their time before they can get a replacement for Ngezana, who was sold to Romanian side FCSB in the off-season.

The Amakhosi academy graduate formed long-term plans for the club and was seen as a future captain, as he was starting to mature in his game, along with last season's defence, where the defenders were criticized for glaring errors.
The Glamour Boys had already planned to part ways with Erick Mathoho and Thabani Dube, who were replaced by the signings of Given Msimango and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe.
However, the Naturena-based side are yet to replace Ngezana, whose signing for the Romanian giants came as a surprise and according to SABC Sport, former SuperSport United centre-back Luke Fleurs has been invited by Chiefs for an assessment at the club after he parted ways with Matsatsantsa.
Amakhosi were previously interested in signing Fleurs from last season but United acted quickly as his contract was nearing the end and tied him to a long-term deal and it now comes as a surprise that the two parties have reportedly parted ways, as the 23-year old's game-time prospects were not promising following the signing of Siyanda Xulu and the emergence of young centre-back Ime Okon.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder and captain Hlompho Kekana believes Fleurs can be a good signing for Chiefs, as cover for Ditlhokwe and Msimango.
"You're looking at a player who can help Chiefs at this moment (as a) back-up centre-back," Kekana said on SoccerZone.
"In case Ditlhokwe, Msimango gets injured, you still have (Njabulo) Ngcobo but I think he's gonna be a good addition for Kaizer Chiefs," he added.
Fleurs has already played with Ditlhokwe for a few seasons at SuperSport and may find it easier to adapt.
The Glamour Boys have improved at the back since head coach Molefi Ntseki switched Zitha Kwinika to right-back, instead of Reeve Frosler, as they have kept three consecutive clean-sheets in the league since Kwinika took the place of Frosler.
That development could make Chiefs more eager to find an additional centre-back, as the former Stellenbosch defender, used as a centre-back last season, is currently doing well, competing with Frosler at the right side of defence.
