Singh owned what was then called Marabastad Sundowns in the 1960s, having also played for the side as a striker, and was also the chairman of Pretoria City and also the founding member of Chiefs.
He sold the club in 1969, which resulted in the formation of Mamelodi Sundowns.
In 1969, he played with Chiefs chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung, following the formation of Kaizer XI.
Singh and Motaung played alongside each other and both scored two goals apiece in the very first game for Kaizer XI as they defeated a Transvaal Coloured Professional Soccer League Invitational XI 4-0 in 1969.
Kaizer Chiefs were later formed in 1970, with Singh among those who had been there when Motaung left Orlando Pirates to start the Kaizer XI and had played an influential role.
