Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson was not surprised by Mduduzi Shabalala's winning goal against SuperSport United.

Goals from Shabalala and Christian Saile guided the Soweto giants to their first league win in six games on Saturday evening.

"Number one, we've broken an egg after a long time but thank you to the fans for coming out,"

"Watching the game, I thought a very difficult game, we know playing against Gavin is always hard and ja we get the goal, you can see on the pitch, the players are happy.

"They put in a lot of hard work and it's not only now, we thought it should have paid off in the last game and last game when we had possession but today was different, we get the three points and that's what we came here for."

Johnson claims Shabalala's strike came as a result of working on his game during training.

"It's not something he can't do, it's something he does at training all the time," Johnson added.

"Like I said before we started, we're doing this a lot in our training sessions, today it comes off, we hope it happens again tomorrow and the day after.

"But it's work in progress and we have to work harder for the next game."
