Quite a few players in recent years have left Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns and have either struggled to find new clubs or have simply just disappeared from the South African football scene.
Amakhosi parted ways with a few players over the last few years and an individual who has not played football at a professional level since leaving Naturena is Bongolethu Jayiya.

While the player has not come out to officially retire, the Siya crew understands that he is unlikely to return to the game, as he is focusing on other aspects of his life.
Yusuf Bunting is another player who parted ways with Amakhosi and has not played at a professional level since the Soweto giants.
Phakamani Mahlambi parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns after an unsuccessful spell with the club. His contract expired in June earlier this year and he has not been able to find a club since leaving the DStv Premiership champions.

Mthokozisi Dube left Orlando Pirates earlier this year after spending two seasons on loan to Golden Arrows. In an interview with Soccer Laduma earlier this year, the player spoke of his struggle to find a new club. Wayde Jooste also left the Buccaneers earlier this year and, despite being linked to a few clubs since his departure, the 30-year-old remains a free agent. Happy Jele remains a free agent after leaving the Buccaneers and it's unclear at this stage if he will make a return to the PSL.
