Pretoria Callies 2-1 Hungry Lions

Pretoria Callies won back-to-back matches after edging Hungry Lions 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at TUT Stadium.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jabulani Shongwe gave Callies an early lead and Nicholas Motloung made it 2-0 just before the half-hour mark.

S'Bongakonke Gamede pulled a goal back for Lions on 66 minutes.

The win took the Romans up to tenth on the table, a place below Ditau Dia Rora.

Orbit College 1-1 NB La Masia

Orbit College missed the chance to go up to third on the table after a 1-1 draw against NB La Masia on Sunday afternoon at Oympia Park Stadium.

Fuad Johnson broke the deadlock for La Masia around the half-hour mark but Siyabulela Mabele levelled matters for Orbit shortly thereafter.

The North West side remained in fifth spot on the log, equal on points with third-placed Casric Stars while La Masia dropped down to 13th.

Saturday, 20 April

University of Pretoria 0-1 Magesi

Magesi boosted their chances of automatic promotion after edging University of Pretoria 1-0 in the top-of-the-table clash on Saturday afternoon at ABSA Tuks Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Rhulani Manzini snatched the winner for Magesi in the last minute.

Dikwena extended their lead at the top of the table to five points, ahead of second-placed AmaTuks.

Upington City 1-0 Black Leopards

Brandon Truter had a winning start at Upington City after a narrow 1-0 victory over Black Leopards on Saturday afternoon at Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Keletso Makgalwa scored the decisive goal for Upington on the half-hour mark.

Bafana Ba Gucci moved up to seventh on the log, two points off the promotion play-off place and Lidoda Duvha slipped down to 11th.

Baroka 0-3 Casric Stars

Baroka's promotion chances were dented after a 3-0 defeat to rivals Casric Stars on Saturday afternoon at Global Stadium.

Tlhalefang Kgabane broke the deadlock for Casric just before the break and Decide Chauke doubled their lead early in the second stanza.

Leletu Skelem put the game to bed for Stars just after the hour-mark.

The win took Casric up to third on the log, two points ahead of Baroka in sixth place.

Platinum City Rovers 1-3 Milford

Milford eased their relegation worries after thumping rivals Platinum City Rovers 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Mvelo Zikakayo broke the deadlock for Milford just before the break and Phakamani Ngxongo gave them a two-goal lead midway into the second stanza.

City pulled a goal back with six minutes remaining but Siphelele Magubane sealed the result for the Stallions in the last minute.

Milford moved three points clear of the relegation zone in 12th spot on the table and Platinum City remained rooted at the bottom of the table.

JDR Stars 0-0 Venda Football Academy

JDR Stars' four-game winning run was halted after a goalless draw against Venda Football Academy.

JDR dropped down to fourth on the table, equal on points with third-placed Casric Stars and Venda slipped down to 14th.

Friday, 19 April

Maritzburg United 0-1 Marumo Gallants

Marumo Gallants boosted their chances of surviving relegation after a narrow 1-0 victory over Maritzburg United on Friday evening at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Themba Ndlovu scored what proved to be the winner for Gallants in the last minute.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa moved off the basement, slightly up to 15th on the table and Maritzburg slipped down to eighth.
