Kaizer Chiefs secured the bragging rights in the Soweto Derby after defeating Orlando Pirates, who DStv Diski Challenge title hopes suffered a blow on Sunday.
The Amakhosi were without top scorer Neo Bohloko, while Mohau Nkota returned for the Buccaneers.
With the first half ending goalless, Chiefs broke the deadlock in the 64th minute via an impressive free-kick from Zolani Cossa.
The game was made safe with 12 minutes to play as Naledi Hlongwane pounced on some errors before firing home.
SuperSport United 0-3 Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns moved five points clear at the top of the table after securing a 3-0 win over SuperSport United at the Tsakane Stadium.
The Brazilians have notched up a sixth successive win in the Diski Challenge to cement top spot.
Keabetswe Ramotsei got the breakthrough for Sundowns five minutes before the halftime break.
Ntando Nkosi and Thando Buthelezi got the other two goals for the Brazilians in the second half.
Cape Town Spurs 2-1 Stellenbosch FC
Cape Town Spurs secured the bragging rights in the Cape Derby with a 2-1 triumph over Stellenbosch FC on Sunday afternoon.
Khaya Mfecane put the Urban Warriors ahead after 17 minutes through a glancing header, before Tasreeq Manuel doubled the lead with a powerful finish on 61 minutes.
Mervin Boji did pull a goal back for Stellenbosch in the 82nd minute, but Spurs were able to see out the win.
