The Bavarians have found themselves in a spot of bother after suffering two consecutive losses as pressure mounts on head coach Tuchel.
Bayern slumped to a 3-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga last weekend, slipping five points behind Xabi Alonso's league leaders, and could now be facing yet another early elimination from Europe.
A goal from Italy international Ciro Immobile secured the win for Lazio on home soil in the first leg of their round of 16 encounter against Bayern on Wednesday.
According to the Metro, the German giants failed to register a single shot on target in a game for the first time in five years, while it was also the club's first last 16 first-leg defeat in Europe in 11 seasons.
"In the first half, we had to take the lead. We had three clear chances. We have to do these things," Tuchel said in a post-match press conference.
"[The second half was] characterised by uncertainty again. It was a bit slapstick.
"We did everything to lose this match. It was in our hands. At a certain point, we stopped believing, I've no idea why. There were many individual mistakes.
"We're frustrated and angry about the defeat. I think we lost the game, I'm not sure Lazio won it."
Earlier this season, Bayern crashed out of the DFB-Pokal following a shock 2-1 loss to German third-tier club Saarbrucken.
The second leg against Lazio will be played on 5 March at the Allianz Arena.
