It's taken 24 years for Bafana Bafana to reach the Africa Cup of Nations last four, but have you wondered where the players who started that semi-final against Nigeria in 2000 are? Soccer Laduma takes a look...
Back in 2000, Bafana were beaten 2-0 by the Super Eagles despite having a strong starting line-up with the likes of Lucas Radebe, John 'Shoes' Moshoeu and Shaun Bartlett.
It was the first time Bafana and Nigeria met at AFCON and the Super Eagles claimed the victory, before going on to lose in the final against Cameroon. Ahead of Wednesday's semi-final showdown in Ivory Coast against Nigeria, Soccer Laduma looks at where the stars of 2000 are.
The starting line-up:
Andre Arendse: The former goalkeeper currently works as an assistant coach to Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United.
Lucas Radebe: Unlike many who go into coaching after retirement, Radebe does a lot of brand ambassador work for different brands and runs the ET Radebe Foundation. It was founded in memory of his late mother.
Mark Fish: The former Charlton Athletic defender runs the Mark Fish Foundation, giving back to communities. He has recently been making time for his swimming training ahead of the aQuellé Midmar Mile.
Pierre Issa: The 1998 FIFA World Cup participant runs Playeleven11, a company that develops football talent with a specific focus on Africa and France.
Dumisa Ngobe: Currently based in Witbank, Ngobe has a steady job at the local municipality.
Thabo Mngomeni: The former Orlando Pirates captain is based in Cape Town and has been working as a coach.
John Moshoeu: One of the finest players produced by South Africa passed away in 2015 following a battle with cancer.
Quinton Fortune: The former Manchester United man is based in the UK and has been doing work for MUTV.
Helman Mkhalele: 'The Midnight Express' is serving as an assistant coach to Hugo Broos in the Bafana Bafana side. If there is one person who probably can't wait to face Nigeria, it's Mkhalele. It's a chance to get back at the Super Eagles for what happened in 2000.
Shaun Bartlett: He was axed as head coach of Cape Town Spurs a few months ago and has recently been working as an analyst on SuperSport for AFCON.
Siyabonga Nomvethe: The former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates player is known to be in business and gives back through his foundation. He was previously working at AmaZulu.
