Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo's contract being terminated at the Red Devils following his recent explosive interview.
Frontrunners For Ronaldo's Signature Emerge?
The 37-year-old has officially left the 20-time English champions by mutual termination of his deal, which was previously set to expire at the end of the season.
Both United and Ronaldo issued statements that said both parties had agreed to the cancelling of his contract, which came soon after the five-time Ballon d'Or went public with his unhappiness at the club last week.
Ronaldo publicly stated he has no respect for Dutch boss Erik ten Hag, and lambasted United's owners for their lack of investment in the club's facilities since his first departure in 2009.
The ex-Real Madrid talisman's comments caused a stir at Carrington, forcing the Premier League giants to act swiftly in response, amid rumours that his teammates were also disappointed with his behaviour.
Fernandes, however, believes he does not need to get caught in the middle of anything
"I don't feel uncomfortable. I don't have to pick a side," he said, according to the Daily Mirror.
"It was a dream come true to play with Cristiano [at Manchester United] but nothing lasts forever."
