At the end of 2023, the Mancunians welcomed British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his company INEOS as the club's new minority stakeholders, with the long-time United fan understood to have taken over football operations from majority owners, the Glazer family.

According to the Evening Standard, Ratcliffe's director of sport, Sir Dave Brailsford, is leading a transfer audit into the club's recent dealings, but in the meantime, they have already begun to identify possible players who could help revitalise the club.

One of the first names mentioned among the club's new chiefs is said to be that of Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

The Frenchman suffered a hamstring injury at the beginning of the campaign, but since recovering, has been in sublime form for the Eagles.

The 22-year-old has five goals in nine matches in the English top flight this season, with four of those coming in his past four games for the south Londoners.
