Following Barcelona's ElClasico loss to Real Madrid at the weekend, the club's eight-man transfer wish list ahead of next season has reportedly been revealed.

De Jong 'Disgusted' By Treatment From Barcelona

Despite enjoying a successful transfer window ahead of the 2022/23 season, it appears clear the Catalan giants are still some way off of being considered among Europe's elite after recent results.

Last week, the Blaugrana were held to a 3-3 draw by Inter Milan at the Camp Nou to make qualifying for the knockout round of the UEFA Champions League highly unlikely, with their fate out of their own hands.

Barcelona's disappointing week was made worse by a 3-1 ElClasico defeat to Los Blancos on Sunday, leaving many wondering what the future holds for some of the team's more high-profile players such as Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique.

In what could be a similar approach as in the previous window, president Joan Laporta has suggested the club will attempt to target more free agents next year, like they did with Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Paris Saint-Germain's Lionel Messi is at the top of Barca's wish list ahead of next season, as has been widely reported across Spain, France and Argentina in recent months.

The 35-year-old has less than a year remaining on his contract in Paris and, should he not extend his deal in Ligue 1, will be available on a free transfer if Barca head coach Xavi Hernandez and Laporta consider the Argentine an important target.

Chelsea duo N'Golo Kante and Jorginho are also reportedly being discussed internally, as is Leicester City's Youri Tielemans and Real Madrid's Marco Asensio, who has been out of favour since the season started.

In defence, Barcelona are said to be targeting Manchester United fullback Diogo Dalot, Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar and experienced Athletic Bilbao centre-back Inigo Martinez, 31.
