Thomas Tuchel is reportedly open to taking the reins of a surprise Premier League club.

With Thomas Tuchel leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season, the German tactician is reportedly open to making a return to the Premier League with a surprise team.

The 50-year-old was sacked by Todd Boehly a few months after the business completed his takeover of Chelsea in 2022.

Tuchel would take a brief sabbatical from football management before assuming coaching responsibilities at Bayern in March 2023, where he began by enjoying success as he won the Bundesliga on the final day of the season.

The Blues had contrasting fortunes after his departure, however.

They appointed Graham Potter to succeed Tuchel, but he, too, would be fired later in the season to be replaced on an interim basis by Frank Lampard as the club finished in 12th place at the end of that campaign, their lowest league finish in 19 years.

Things have not really improved at Stamford Bridge under new boss Mauricio Pochettino as, after spending big once again in the off-season, they still find themselves in the bottom half of the log today, in 11th position.

Meanwhile, Tuchel's situation has quickly changed at the Allianz Arena. The Bavarians currently 10 points adrift of Bundesliga table-toppers Bayer Leverkusen, and it was also confirmed earlier this year that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season after a poor string of results.

Tuchel now finds himself looking for a new job while the west Londoners are rumoured to be looking at Pochettino alternatives, and according to Bild, the former Chelsea boss would be open to returning to the EPL club if the opportunity presented itself.

The same report also claims, though, that while he may be willing to return to where he won the UEFA Champions League, Manchester United are his preferred destination in England.
