Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly made a decision about the managerial position Chelsea are said to have offered him.

Sancho Made 'Benni Request' At Man Utd

The Argentine is said to have been of interest to the Blues' hierarchy as recent as last week, when the club was reported to have made initial contact with the 50-year-old.

According to 90min, however, while Pochettino is keen to return to football management in England, he does not consider the Chelsea job desirable.

The club is currently in 10th position in the Premier League standings, having won only eight league matches all season.

Couple that with the club's new owners spending a reported €611 million (R11 billion) on transfers this season, and the pressure that alone brings, and it can perhaps be seen why Pochettino would be reluctant to jump into the Chelsea dugout.

The west Londoners have already fired one manager this season in Thomas Tuchel, and his replacement, Graham Potter, is now under immense pressure.

Co-owner of the English giants Todd Boehly has publicly backed Potter despite the team's wretched run of form, but the same report suggests that the rest of the club's ownership have become disillusioned by the side's performances under the 47-year-old.

Pochettino was quoted in late 2022 as wanting a return to England, but it is said that he will only return to management under what he feels are the right circumstances, and it appears the situation at Chelsea may be a bit too volatile for his liking.

'Lukaku Was My Biggest Problem At Chelsea'

"I miss the Premier League. I am really open. I love England and I am living between London and Barcelona, but more in London," the former Tottenham Hotspurs boss said at the time.

"My house, my home. I love to be in England. The Premier League is the best league in the world. It's so competitive."
