It seems Jurgen Klopp is eager to lay the foundations of what he hopes is his next great team.

Many of those Reds who won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League under the German tactician have now left, with only a few remaining.

Mohamed Salah is one of them, and while the Egyptian is still playing at a world-class level, it seems Saudi Arabia may be beckoning for the 31-year-old after Al Ittihad's intense interest this past off-season.

According to Sport Bild, Klopp envisages ex-Manchester City star Leroy Sane as their talisman's successor.

While the winger has been getting plenty of minutes under Thomas Tuchel in Munich, the same has not been true for the forward's compatriot Jamal Musiala.

The 20-year-old is believed to have been promised that he will be the face of the club by its chiefs, but so far in the 2023/24 season, Tuchel has been rotating him with club icon Thomas Muller.

The same report claims that it is because of this lack of security that the youngster and his representatives have placed contract talks on hold, as they wait to see how things develop with the former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain manager.

Having missed out on Musiala's close friend Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid this past off-season, Liverpool seem eager to still acquire a world-class attacking midfielder, and have reportedly deemed the former Chelsea youth product as the perfect fit.

Both Musiala and Sane's contracts are set to expire in 2026, and should they still refuse to extend by the end of the season, many of Europe's sides will be keen to make a move to sign the attacking talents.
