Senegal superstar Sadio Mane caused a stir on the weekend following his reaction to being substituted in Al Nassr’s 3-2 win over Al Shabab.

According to local newspaper Al Yaum, the former Liverpool winger reacted badly to being substituted by manager Luis Castro on Sunday night.

The publication claims 31-year-old was angry with his manager, who replaced him with Ayman Yahya in the 83rd minute of their Saudi Pro League victory.

While he has contributed to 18 goals in 29 appearances this season since his Bayern Munich departure, he has been involved in only four strikes in his last 11 league matches.

Before his brace in a 5-2 victory over Al Ittihad in December, Mane had gone league 10 games in a row without scoring a goal and he is yet to score a goal since then too.

Furthermore, a Saudi-based outlet earlier this season called the winger a "nightmare" teammate for Cristiano Ronaldo amid calls for the former Premier League star to be dropped.

Mane, however, has not been linked with a return to Europe since last year and is likely to continue in the Middle East, where his current deal expires in 2026.
