There's very few South African football topics that split opinion like Kasi Flava does. Some might see it as pointless showboating, while others value the cultural or entertainment aspect behind it.
Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro weighed in on the Kasi Flava debate, saying that he sees no issue with the display of skill, on condition that its purposeful.
"It's something cultural in a way. I think everything in football is fine as long as it's useful to gain metres, eliminate players, to feed the next player in the next line, and everything is okay," he said.
"The technical tricks in football are beautiful to see but again, with a purpose. You eliminate somebody? it's fine, you lose the ball, it's not fine," added Riveiro, who spoke after his side's CAF Champions League preliminary round win last Friday over Djabal.
