What's the story?

Mamelodi Sundowns visited three orphanages to handover food parcels and share the philanthropic spirit of giving for this year's World Food Day.

Led by Thlopie Motsepe, the Brazilians visited three local orphanages in their efforts to ensure that children, who are the future as Motsepe pointed out, have access to food.

Sundowns donate for World Food Day

Downs donated to Jehovah Jirah Orphanage Centre, Modimo O Lerato Orphanage and the Kgaogelo Unlimited Orphanage in Mamelodi with Motsepe and coach Steve Komphela sharing poignant messages.

"You can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone," was the messaged behind Motsepe's understanding and reasons behind Masandawana's World Food Day efforts.

World Food Day is celebrated annually around the globe to raise awareness around food security, poverty and hunger among other aspects.

In a short video shared by the reiging DStv Premiership champs, the children from the various orphanages were in a gleeful mood wearing the club's merch and fun face paints.

Steve Komphela reiterated what he said on the same day last year that people in privileged positions are needed in these efforts.

He highlighted that greed will "starves us" but feels that everyone's basic need for food can be covered if "we use what is available to help one anothe."
