The recently retired 35-year-old, who enjoyed a glittering career at Chelsea, was recently included in a elite list of recently retired ballers who make money from Instagram posts.
Ticketgum.com put the list together and the sought out to discover how successful former footballers can get once retiring.
They researched 18 of the top recently retired ballers and acquired their estimated earnings per Instagram post, utilizing Influencer Marketing Hub’s social media earnings calculator.

Obi Mikel has amassed around 1.7 million followers on IG and the social media earnings calculator states that he makes an estimated $6 127.50 (Over R110 880).

These recently retired stars fall well behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, two greats of the game who are nearing the end of their careers.
Messi reportedly made over R67 million per IG post, meanwhile Ronaldo racked in over R90 million, boasting around 555 million followers on the app.
