Mahlangu rates Obrigado
With his dazzling skills and supreme creativity, Jabu Mahlangu is fondly remembered by the Khosi Nation for his time at the club in the early 2000s.
Another mercurial talent, Mfundo "Obrigado" Vilakazi, set to wow Chiefs supporters for the foreseeable future after he signed a long-term contract last week.
Like Mahlangu, Obrigado is a product of Kaizer Chiefs' academy and is already garnering a cult following at the club, similar to "Shuffle" during his early years with the Glamour Boys' senior team.
CEO of the Prosport International sports agency, Mike Makaab, is also firmly on the Vilakazi hype train and waxed lyrical about his client on the "Extra Time", a bi-weekly sports radio show on Durban's Gagasi FM.
"I had the fortune of representing Jabu Mahlangu and I never thought that I would see another player with that innate talent, that unbelievable talent on the ball, until I saw Mfundo Vilakazi," said Makaab on the show, adding:
"He is probably one of the most exciting young players I've seen in this country for many, many years. I just hope, and we'll obviously try and play our part, that he keeps his feat on the ground but more importantly, that the talent and skill isn't coached out of him."
Mahlangu shared a clip of Makaab's praise of Obrigado, agreeing with the former Orlando Pirates coach by writing: "@mfundo_vilakazi_12 for me, he's proper Kaizer Chiefs material and he needs to play every game."
