Banyana Banyana boss Desiree Ellis had quite the week, this time, it was purely off-the-pitch business that kept her busy.

The Women's Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach was invited Thursday night's State of the Nation Address (SONA) and also renewed her partnership with Volkswagen South Africa.

Desiree Ellis' eventful week

Banyana Banyana's head coach Desiree Ellis had a brilliant start to her week after VW South Africa took to Instagram to announce the renewal of their strategic partnership with Ellis.

The 60-year-old women's football legend received the keys to what appears to be a dark grey VW Tiguan Allspace, lush seven-seater that's valued at over R666k! 

Ellis' partnership with VW SA will also see her continue with her involvement in the VW Train4Life initiative and VW Vaya Cupyouth football tournament.

"Thank you @volkswagensouthafrica for your continued support and to another year of impacting youth soccer development and empowering girls," said Ellis in her Instagram post, showing appreciation to the people at VW.

On Thursday evening, Ellis attended the 2024 State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Cape Town. As revealed by Banyana's social media pages, Ellis was one of the high-profile guests of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
