The Moroccan ballers received some royal recognition from King Mohammed VI for their efforts at the World Cup and were joined by their mothers, who won hearts during the tournament, at a ceremony held at Morocco's Royal Palace.

According to the Daily Mail, coach Walid Regragui and the Moroccan Federation of Football President Faouzi Lekjaa were made commanders of the Order of the Throne, which is a second class honour awarded by King Mohammed.

The players were honoured with officer status, known as the third highest award.
