Onana hops on private jet for AFCON
As Cameroon prepare to take on Guinea in their AFCON 2024 opener later today, Andre Onana finally made his way to Ivory Coast to join the rest of his national teammates.
Onana reportedly boarded a chartered private jet straight after Man United's 2-2 draw in the English Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
Onana faced a quick turnaround as he began the seven-hour journey from Manchester to Yamoussoukro on a private jet ahead of Cameroon's Group C clash against Guinea at 19:00 South African time.
The 27-year-old posted a picture of him on a private plane at midnight on Snapchat, which was reshared heavily on various social media sites such as Twitter/X and Instagram.
The former Ajax Amsterdam and Inter Milan shot-stopper is reportedly starting on the bench for tonight's clash, with his distant cousin Fabrice Ondoa said to be taking his place in the starting line-up.

Onana wanted to remain at Man United to protect his number on spot to his Turkish understudy Altay Bayindir, who also arrived before the start of the 2023/24 season.
Cameroon are understood to have been happy to let Onana arrive late to AFCON, as the Red Devils signed Onana as a David de Gea replacement, when he retired from international football.
The goalkeeper has since reversed his decision to retire from international, despite falling out with Indomitable Lions coach Rigobert Song at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar for his style of play.
