We start on a sad note this week. SuperSport United were unfortunately edged by TP Mazembe to CAF Confederation Cup honours. This, after Matsatsantsa a Pitori lost the away leg 2-1 in Lubumbashi in the DRC. All they needed was to score one goal at home to win the title, but it was not to be. We want to encourage them to continue working hard. Hopefully next time they will bring it home.
This coming weekend it’s the final of the Telkom Knockout competition where Bidvest Wits will battle it out against Bloemfontein Celtic for the R4.5 million prize on offer. It is going to be a tough encounter, considering Celtic have won it before, in 2012. Also take into consideration Wits coach, Gavin Hunt’s experience in cup finals. He is more familiar with these types of games and that cannot be overlooked. We wish both teams everything of the best in the final.
