Let us start by congratulating Oscarine Masuluke for being a runner-up in the Puskas Goal of the Year award after his goal was nominated and made it to the final three. Masuluke narrowly lost out to Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud by a mere 10% of the votes. That on its own is an achievement for a young lad like Oscarine.
AVBOB would like to encourage him to keep his head high and walk tall because he is a hero. Not many goalkeepers get nominated for scoring a goal, let alone for the Puskas. He must give himself a pat on the back.
This weekend, the focus shifts to the quarter-finals of the Telkom Knockout competition. All eight teams will be fighting for a spot in the semi-finals. This is a once off chance for all of the teams in the sense that if you lose, you’re out and will only participate in the competition again next season. Good luck to all the teams taking part.
