Marriage ceremonies usually happen between people.
But there are cases where people get married to animals for various reasons.
A woman once got married to a dog in a traditional ceremony in India because her family believed she was cursed.
Mungli Munda said she was not happy with this marriage.
Her parents ordered the rushed wedding on advice of "holy men" who said their daughter has been cursed.
“I’m marrying a dog because the villagers believe that my evil spell will be passed onto the dog.
“After this is done, the man I will marry will have a long life.
“Villagers say that many women like me have followed the same ritual… they have gotten rid of their evil spells and are now living happy lives,” she said.
Her father Sri Amnmunda said he has seen at least four weddings like this.
“There will be no problems in her life after she is married,” he said.
In 2019, morning TV viewers were left stunned as a woman married her dog live on the show.
She said she was sick of men.
Elizabeth Hoad had said she didn't need a man in her life, as she wanted to spend the rest of her life with her golden retriever, Logan.
They then exchanged rings, with Logan the dog receiving a bracelet on his paw.
Not only do women get married to dogs.
In 2017, a woman in Cambodia got married to a cow which she believed is her reborn husband.
Khim Hang (74) said up to 100 people a day visited her home in northeast Kratie province to see the calf she said behaves very similarly to her late husband, Tol Khut.
"I believe that the calf is my husband because whatever he does... is in exactly the same way as my husband did when he was alive," she told Reuters Television.
