POLICE in the USA have arrested a woman for allegedly killing her two young children in an apartment in Miami on Tuesday night, 12 April.

According to nbcmiami.com, cops received several calls at around 8pm from a woman who reportedly appeared to be in distress.

It is reported that when they responded to the scene, they found a 41-year-old woman, who allegedly told them that she no longer wanted her kids anymore.

Police spokesman Mike Vega told the publication that cops found two children, a five-year-old girl and three-year-old boy, tied up in a bedroom.

He said Miami fire rescue attempted to save the children’s lives, but they were both declared dead on the scene.

“Even a seasoned officer like myself who’s been on the force for 25 years, it’s heartbreaking. It’s something sad to see two kids, who are just starting to live their lives, have lost their lives,” Vega said.

The woman was arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

Meanwhile, the Department of Children and Families said it was working closely with law enforcement to uncover the circumstances that caused the tragic incident.
