THE City of Joburg Emergency Management Services (CoJEMS) together with the police have recovered three bodies of young boys from a stream in Diepsloot, north of Joburg on Monday afternoon, 18 April.

CoJEMS spokesman Robert Mulaudzi said details leading to the drownings of the kids aged eight, nine and 10 are still sketchy and an investigation has been launched.

Mulaudzi urged parents to monitor young children to stay away from river streams to prevent drowning incidents

“Water levels in most of our river streams are high due to the rainfall we received over the Easter weekend young kids might be tempted to go play next to these river streams,” he added.
