Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe once again etched his name into the UEFA Champions League history books on Wednesday night by breaking a long-standing Lionel Messi record – with the help of the Argentine himself.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions secured a 2-1 win over Juventus on Wednesday, with Mbappe and Nuno Mendes getting on the scoresheet for the French giants.

The win was not enough to secure the top spot in Group H, however, as both PSG and Benfica ended up on the same points, same goal difference and more, with the Portuguese side securing first place due to their superior away goals record.
Mbappe's strike against the Bianconeri means he is now tied with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah for the most goals in the UCL so far this season with seven strikes.
His goal against the Bianconeri, which was assisted by Messi, was a historic one, too, as it was the 40th of his UCL career, making him the youngest player to reach the milestone at the age of 23 years and 317 days.
The Argentine had previously set this record at 24 years and 130 days, per UEFA.

Only two other French footballers have surpassed that 40-goal tally, namely Thierry Henry and Karim Benzema, who have 50 and 86 UCL strikes to their names, respectively.
