Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has now reportedly made a major admission after failing a recent drug test.

The 30-year-old has admitted to his management and his club that he had been using testosterone, with the Serie A side now believed to be set to terminate his contract, according to Sky Sports via BeSoccer.

Italy's National Anti-Doping Court announced earlier this week that Pogba had been provisionally suspended for using the banned substance following a failed doping test last month.

The France international's positive test is reported to have resulted from him taking a food supplement purchased in the United States on the advice of a doctor friend of his.

It is claimed that Juventus were, however, not informed of this.

The Bianconeri have reportedly already frozen Pogba's salary, and he is unable to train with the team due to the provisional suspension he has been handed.

The club is also said to be prepared to terminate his contract worth £6 million (R140 million) a year if a counter-analysis comes back positive or if he is found guilty by a sports court, with a potential ban of up to four years from football also a possibility.

If Juventus do proceed to terminate the France international's contract, it is said that they will save about £25 million (R586 million) gross as his current deal at the Allianz Stadium is set to expire in June 2026.

The France star has been plagued by injuries since making his return to Turin from Manchester United in 2022, and has also had personal struggles off the pitch too, having been embroiled in an extortion plot involving one of his brothers, a situation that reportedly had him contemplating retiring from football.
