Ronaldo was spotted talking to many of his ex-colleagues and also took photos with most of them, including manager Carlo Ancelotti, but Benzema was reportedly nowhere to be seen.

This raised eyebrows, with some wondering if the duo are still on good terms, especially after the Frenchman revealed in November 2022 that Ronaldo had still not congratulated him on winning the Ballon d'Or.

However, Benzema has since rejected any suggestion that there is a rift between them.

"We don't need to take photos to say we're friends, the photos are for Instagram or Twitter, that's another world," the 35-year-old said, per Goal.

"We didn't have time to greet each other because I was training and immediately he also went to train.

"I hope to see him [on Sunday] at the stadium and be able to talk to him for a while."

The superstar duo joined Los Blancos in the same transfer window in 2009, winning 15 trophies together before Ronaldo departed for Juventus in 2018.
