An inmate sharing a prison with Brazil star Dani Alves has revealed some insights into the FC Barcelona legend's life behind bars, saying the other prisoners often ask the "bored" fullback for autographs.

Alves continues to be detained following his arrest on charges of rape in January, with the alleged crime said to have occurred at Sutton nightclub in Barcelona in December.

The 39-year-old remains on pre-trial detention without bail, with a judge having deemed the player to be a flight risk given the resources he has to travel to anywhere in the world, according to Marca.

His lawyers are said to have submitted a lengthy 24-page document insisting the former Juventus defender will not flee the country before his trial if allowed out on bail, while he is also said to be willing to wear a telematic bracelet in order for authorities to be able to monitor his whereabouts.

An inmate in the same prison has now revealed what life inside is like for the veteran fullback, who has been allowed to access sports facilities at the penitentiary.

"He is in module 13 with Coutinho, who is a friend of mine. A Brazilian. The other day he was taken out by the director and the deputy director. They went to show him around the sports area. At 13:30, at lunchtime," the prisoner explained in an interview with Cuatro al dia

"But he walks around normally. He doesn't have a special life, nor is he given special treatment.

"The attitude he has is bored, very bored, it's a very boring life.

"But he's been playing football already, he's been playing some games with the guys there. The people he's with are there for the same crime.

"He's a good kid, he's a good guy. He's super calm, they ask him for autographs... I'm surprised."
