Manchester United booked their spot in the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a 4-3 victory over Liverpool in extra-time on Sunday evening.

United were boosted by the return of striker Rasmus Hojlund who came in for injured Casemiro, while Virgil Van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Diaz were recalled by the Reds.

The game got off to a lively start as Marcus Rashford forced Caoimhin Kelleher into a fine save with an effort from distance, while Mohamed Salah went close with a first-time volley inside the opening 10 minutes.

A minuter later, the home side were ahead when Scott McTominay showed great eagerness to bundle the ball home after Alejandro Garnacho's initial strike was saved by Kelleher.

Liverpool, meanwhile, were finding it tough to break down the United defence as the half went on while they also had to be wary of the pace of Rashford and Garnacho on the counter attack.

Klopp's men thought they had equalised after 37 minutes via a composed finish from Wataru Endo, but the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) spotted an offside on Salah in the build-up.

The Reds were not to be denied on 44 minutes when Mac Allister rattled the back of the net with a deflected strike after United failed to clear their lines.

The visitors completed the turnaround late in time added on when Onana could only parry Darwin Nunez's strike, which allowed Salah to volley home from close range.

Onana had to be at his best in the second period as he produced a fine save at his near post to keep out Nunez's powerful effort, as the visitors looked for a third goal.

Ten Hag freshened up the United side on 70 minutes, with Harry Maguire making his return to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka while Hojlund made way for Antony in the attack.

Antony went on to make the desired impact as he picked up a loose ball in the box and found the bottom corner with a neat finish, sending the encounter to extra-time.

Extra-time was a bit more cagey due to the tired legs, but the visitors did pull themselves ahead when Harvey Elliot found the back of the net with a deflected effort distance.

United were back on level terms aftr the break when McTominay turned provider to play in Rashford, who sent a first-time finish into the back of the net.

The win was secured in the final minute of extra-time when substitute Amad Diallo raced clear from Garnacho's pass and found the bottom corner to send his side to the final four.
