Manchester United had a night forget as they were thrashed 4-0 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday evening.

Erik ten Hag was forced to make two changes as Harry Maguire and Mason Mount came in for Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire, who were ruled out through. Casemiro was given the captain's armband for the night.

The Eagles got the start they wanted after taking the lead in the 12th minute through a wonderful solo effort from Michael Olise, who finished off a nice with a lovely low strike.

United thought they had they equalised after 26 minutes but the celebrations were cut short after Rasmus Hojlund was deemed to have fouled goalkeeper Dean Henderson before the ball went in.

The home continued to impress and doubled their lead in the 40th minute as  Jean-Phillipe Mateta made it six games in a row with goal after sending a powerful strike past Andre Onana.

Palace carried that momentum into the second half and extended their lead just before the hour mark through Tyrick Mitchell bundled the ball home after United failed to clear their lines from a free-kick.

The rout continued after Daniel Muñoz took possession off Casemiro on the near side and played the ball back for Olise, who took one touch before sending a powerful strike beyond Onana to complete his brace.

At the other end, it was a disappointing evening for the Red Devils who struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances throughout the entire game.
