A Zimbabwe club boss has slammed Khama Billiat's camp after their failed attempt to sign the former Kaizer Chiefs star.

With reports suggesting that the 33-year-old will be making a return to his native country after agreeing to join Zimbabwean club Yadah FC, Dynamos FC vice-chairperson Vincent Chawonza has expressed unhappiness with how the situation played out.

Billiat and former club Chiefs are believed to have been unable to agree terms that would have seen him renew his contract with the Soweto club, sparking his decision to return to Zimbabwe.

He is said to have agreed a deal with Yadah, who are believed to have offered the midfielder a package that includes a signing-on fee of $50 000 (about R960 000) and a monthly salary of $5 000 (about R95 759).

Dynamos executive Chawonza, however, has revealed that his club put down a similar offer before their rivals came in to hijack the deal, and also blamed Billiat's representatives for "not leading him well".

"People who are around him (Billiat) are ill-advising him. I think the blame goes to his managers, starting with the decision not to renew his stay at Kaizer Chiefs," Chawonza said, per Newsday Zimbabwe.

"He wasn't supposed to leave Kaizer Chiefs in the first place. We tabled a similar offer as Yadah, but they were swift and gave him cash on Tuesday when he arrived.

"We had promised him $10 000 (about R191 500) this week on Thursday, and the other $10 000 next week, but Yadah gave him $15 000 (about R287 000) on the spot.

"With us, his salary was supposed to be $3 000 (about R57 500).

"I think he listens too much to the people who are around him, yet they are ill-advising him. As a player, he has made some decisions that I did not expect of him.

"But it all boils down to his management because they are not leading him well. He was the one who initiated talks with us during George Chigova's funeral. Then we initiated talks with our coach.

"Everything was on course until Tuesday."
