New reports suggest that the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto'o, has been summoned for questioning by CAF on Wednesday.
It has been a difficult past few days for the former FC Barcelona striker, who buried his father, David Eto'o, on the weekend after he fell to an illness.

In the midst of that devastating ordeal, the four-time CAF Footballer of the Year is now set to refocus his attention on other pressing matters, such as the investigation into alleged match-fixing that was opened against him in August 2023.
According to Cameroonian news outlet Camfoot, Eto'o has been summoned to meet with CAF on Wednesday, 17 April, at the organisation's headquarters in Egypt.
It is claimed the 43-year-old is expected to appear for the hearing, where he will be questioned about allegations of match-fixing, corruption, and nepotism, among other claims that have been made against him since taking the FECAFOOT presidency.
In August last year, a press statement by CAF read: "CAF has received written requests from several Cameroonian football stakeholders for the review and investigation of certain alleged inappropriate behaviours of Mr. Samuel Eto'o, President of the Cameroonian Football Federation ('FECAFOOT').
"CAF examines these requests in accordance with the CAF Statutes and Regulations. Although the allegations are prima facie serious, Mr. Samuel Eto'o is presumed innocent until an appropriate judicial body finds otherwise.
"The FCA will not make any further announcements while investigations are ongoing and will only make public statements once the proceedings have been completed."
Camfoot further claims that sources close to them have confirmed that the investigation was completed a few months ago, and that Eto's will only now be questioned about the facts of the case.

The Indomitable Lions legend remained silent on the matter for several months, but in February 2024, he told France24 that he had instructed his lawyers to file a complaint against CAF for reputational damage.
