An African footballer has now been found alive after going through a horrendous kidnapping ordeal on the weekend that reportedly left him with a number of injuries.

The club initially received reports from the player's family informing that the goalkeeper had gone missing from Sunday.

He is said to have sent an SOS to his wife that let her know he was "not at a safe place".

According to reports, Olang'o was snatched by three unknown men near a mall. They then put him in a car and took away his phone, but not before he managed to get an emergency communication away to his wife.

It is claimed that they then emptied the player's bank accounts.

No ransom was said to have been made before he was discovered abandoned in a forest, as the club confirmed in a statement on social media.

"The family of our keeper Brian Olang'o has confirmed that the player was found safe," KCB said in a statement on Tuesday.

The goalkeeper was, however, found with traumatic injuries said to include a scathing cut on his left thigh, and injuries to his head and right shoulder.
