Bafana Bafana striker Luther Singh's agent Warren Swartz has opened up on the viability of his client joining either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates, as interest for his services peaks.

With the 2023/24 season reaching its business end, Singh is currently in demand as a free agent after leaving Serbian outfit FK Cukaricki.

The 26-year-old has built a solid career in Europe after a long stay in Portugal, where he prominently played for Braga and his career peaked after he was signed by Danish giants FC Copenhagen in January last year, before he joined Curaricki.

Singh's agent Swartz, CEO at ProAthlete Management Agency, has revealed that enquiries are pouring in for the former junior international as clubs in Africa, including one from Soweto, have joined a number of clubs in Europe queuing for the 26-year-old's services.

"In Europe, there are enquiries from Sweden, Norway, there was an offer from Scotland, there are enquiries from the MLS. We're still engaging them," Swartz tells KickOff.

"There are even offers from Africa - Morocco as well as Egypt. Locally as well, for now it's one of the Soweto teams which I won't say who," he continued.

There have been reports that Zamalek have made an offer for Singh, and now the Bafana striker's agent has confirmed that the Egyptian giants have indeed tabled an offer.

"Zamalek has put something on the table, ja," he confirmed.

When pressed for more information on one Soweto club interested, Swartz confirmed that talks are still ongoing.

"There was an inquiry, we're still engaging. The interest is strong but nothing concrete as yet," he said.

Swartz also revealed that Singh would be open to playing in the PSL, as that would increase his chances of getting back to the Bafana Bafana squad, although Europe is their priority.

"Look, he'll like to stay in Europe, he has played there all along, he has the qualities, his style of play suits Europe. So, Europe is first prize. However, if the offer is good (from the PSL), he'll take the opportunity... if the offer is really good," he emphasised.

"Because he'll be back home with his family and with his level, he'll probably be in the starting XI, which in turn will get him back to the national team. So, ja, he's very open to it. However, Europe is first prize."
