Golden Arrows rallied back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with SuperSport United in DStv Premiership action on Wednesday night.
SuperSport made only one enforced change from their win over Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup, as Siviwe Magidigidi was handed his debut in place of the suspended Tendamudzimu Matodzi, as he partnered Terrence Dzvukamanja up top.
Arrows, meanwhile, were also unchanged from their league win against the Natal Rich Boyz, as Kagiso Malinga led the front line alongside Knox Mutizwa.
Matsatsantsa had a perfect start after Ime Okok gave them the lead just after 11 minutes with a close-range header from a cross by Shandre Campbell.
United remained in the front foot as on the half-hour mark Siphesihle Ndlovu almost doubled their lead with a strike in the box that was saved by goalkeeper Sifiso Mlungwana after he was setup by Campbell.
The momentum was with Gavin Hunt's charges towards the end of the first stanza, as Dzvukamanja eventually doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time with a strike in the box that found the top corner after he was teed up by Grant Margeman.
Steve Komphela's charges were spirited from the break but only came close to pulling a goal back on the hour-mark after Nduduzo Sibiya had a shot in the box that missed narrowly wide.
Arrows were forced to make a change after that as Malinga was replaced by Lungelo Nguse due to injury upfront.
The injury forced change was a blessing in disguise for Abafana Bes'thende, as Nguse reduced the deficit 20 minutes before time with a shot in the box that found the bottom corner.
Gavin Hunt reinforced his defence with 15 minutes to go as Lyle Lakay came on for Magidigidi in a tactical change.
However, Arrows continued to threaten and Gladwin Shitolo finally levelled matters eight minutes before time with a close-range header from a corner.
Abafana Bes'thende almost got all the three points after Mutizwa had a chance in added time with a strike in the box that was saved by shot-stopper Ricardo Goss.
SuperSport moved up to fifth on the table while Arrows moved down to ninth but moved equal on points with Kaizer Chiefs, who also dropped down to eighth.
