An insider, who opted to remain anonymous, has explained the reason the Premier Soccer League has not added its voice to the outcry about the standard of refereeing in the country.
South African referees continue to dominate the headlines due to what many describe as a decline in the standard of refereeing.

While PSL clubs and coaches continue to blame the match officials for some of their bad results, the League has been quiet regarding the standard of refereeing in the DStv Premiership.
"Remember, the Premier Soccer League has got nothing to do with referees as they fall under the South African Football Association," a source tells KickOff.
"SAFA appoints the referees, they are supposed to coach the referees, so it's got nothing to do with the League.
"So, the PSL obviously can't comment on such, it's up to the clubs to take care of the matter.
"You can see how many clubs are upset with the issue, like AmaZulu FC are upset right now," added the source.
In recent times, coaches like Pablo Franco Martin and Sead Ramovic have come down hard on referees and how they, in their opinion, influence outcomes of games.
"The League can only ask about the matter if all clubs raise questions about the refereeing, and at this stage, they have not.
"It has to be a unanimous thing before the League can approach SAFA.
"The League don't interfere in such things, they are not the ones who appoint match officials.
"So, the PSL they has no right to criticize another company. The referees are being trained by the South African Football Association.

"They appoint them, train them, and do everything. The PSL has nothing to do with the referees."
