Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mntambo took an imaginative approach to Heritage Day, as he channeled his inner taxi driver with a heavily-inspired outfit. Here's a look!

The story

While Heritage day is a celebration of tradition and identity, the midfield maestro saw it as an opportunity of showcase an unexpected form of cultural expression.

The former Orlando Pirates man put on his best Zulu taxi driver impersonation .While the Toyota Quantumn is an obvious give away, Mntambo really glamourised the classic look with the detailed newsboy cap.

A simple pair of chino trousers, a white vest, and the leather jacket really captured the essence of a classic taxi driver, while the white Omega leather sandals put it far beyond doubt the look was inspired by the black-sheep's of the transport industry.

The Babina Noko skipper also made it a point that he proudly hails in clans names, which are considered to be just as important as one's surname due to the fact that they commemorate an individual's lineage.

"Mntambo, uNovetshe, Jiyane, Ntethe, Mlondo, Gigaba, Nhlangothi," the playmaker wrote on Instagram.

Admittedly, it's easy to understand the creative direction in which the 32-year-old was going with this look. The vintage taxi-owner look has become popular in the entertainment space, as many music artists and other creatives have incorporated the aesthetic into their own fashion.

Hip Hop star Big Zulu's and his clique, Inkabi Nation, are one of the biggest examples of this, while the likes of Kabza de Small and Pabi Cooper have also been seen adopting the look.

Did you know?

Maskandi's leading artist Khuzani is also a big influence in this trend, as his music is closely associated with the taxi industry.

Your thoughts, please?

Do you think Mntambo deserved a national team call up given his impressive performances since joining Sekhukhune in the off-season?
