South African celebrity Minnie Dlamini has yet again caused a stir after she reportedly revealed that she would be open to having her former partner and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune on the panel of her upcoming Showmax Roast.

The story

The television presenter is understood to have dated the Amakhosi shot-stopper between 2011 to 2013 in a highly publicized relationship. According to BONA Magazine, it was even rumoured that the pair were set to get married, with Khune allegedly expected to pay R1 million for lobola at the time.

While a decade has passed since the pair split, Dlamini made headlines again following the recent confirmation of the Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini.

Speaking at the launch event of the upcoming special, the A-list star said the she would be a great subject of the roast before adding that she would appreciate seeing Khune participate in it as well.

"The roast is fundamentally a celebration of my career and there's nothing I love more than a good laugh," said Dlamini, according to Zimoja.

"I'm really hoping to get a representative from every facet of the industry, someone no one would expect, especially since I've worn so many hats and worked in so many different spaces in the business."

She then went on to add that she would welcome her ex Khune on the panel of the show but doubts that he would agree to it. "That would be interesting. He [Khune] wouldn't do it but it would be great."

According to Sunday World, Dlamini also added that one of the most bizarre things she's heard being said about her was that Khune paid lobola for her.

“The most outlandish thing to date is the claim that Khune paid lobola for me is still the most wild thing. People have really gone out of their way to say some really crazy stuff about me. I don’t think there is anything that I have not heard.”

It is also reported that the former SABC Sport host wants comedians like Tumi Morake, Skhumba Hlophe, and Nina Hastie to participate.

The show is set to air on Showmax on 26 April, 2024.
