Moroka Swallows are certainly reaping the rewards of their ground-breaking partnership with Drip, as the Dube Birds have now revealed a training kit for the ages.

The story

At the start of the 2023/24 season, the Soweto team announced Drip Sportif as their new kit-maker after they had been previously wearing Umbro. Having seemingly dropped the British sports equipment company for a local premium brand, the club appears to have elevated style-wise despite their new kit-manufacturer having relatively little experience making football merchandise.

From an aesthetics point of view, Swallows are now soaring again after they were spotted rocking a fresh new training with stunning design feature like never seen before, as far as football attires go.

The training jersey is blue at the back and sports striking patterns emblematic of the club's traditional identity. The top alone captures the true values of modern-day sportswear, as it could easily go well with a pair of denim jeans, chinos, and even skirts for the ladies thanks to its complementary design - which would perfectly harmonise a streetwear outfit as well.

This is no surprise, however, given that the Lekau Sehoana-owned label initially emerged as a fashion brand before getting their hand onto sports. The founder and creative chief recently confirmed that he has been hard at work for two years trying to develop the perfecting running shoe for athletes and avid fitness lovers. One could expect that the Dube are also sure to benefit from this as the new sneaker technology is "engineered for ultimate support, comfort, and performance."

At face value, the relationship between Swallows and Drip is a match made in heaven, as it promotes locally-owned brands in an industry dominated by international giants like Nike, adidas, and PUMA. Drip is showing that it can certainly compete with the big boys at a fundamental level and the choice to partner with a historically rich club like Amaswaiswai is something that should resonate with the fans for years to come.
