ANYTHING associated with human fingerprints is very important as it helps reveal one’s identity.
Modern smartphones have taken the use of fingerprints to the next level as a security feature which in most cases, makes the phone and apps more secure.
As I’ve said, your fingerprints are important, but in the wrong hands, they could be dangerous.
The most unfortunate thing is that someone could still access your phone.
Enabling a fingerprint feature to protect your WhatsApp, gallery, and digital banking apps is quite easy as it allows you to access them easily. Fascinating, right?
Unfortunately, that is not the case.
For instance, should you fall asleep, a person can betray your trust by simply using your fingerprint to unlock the phone and gain access to restricted apps.
The worst-case scenario can be when one is forced by criminals to unlock their phone using the same method.
Here are a few ways you can protect yourself and your device:
- According to Android Authority, PINs and passwords are much more secure than the more convenient methods of authentication.
I recommend that you create a strong PIN or password that has more characters.
- Avoid using pattern locks, they are easy to spy on.
- Keep your phone updated at all times so that you can receive regular security and system updates.
- Avoid installing password apps from dodgy websites.
- Always browse for new biometric apps that best suit your device on the Google Play store and Apple’s App Store.
With that said, there are various options you can choose to secure your device, it all comes to selecting the correct method which does not put you at risk.
