The four women accused of the murder of the Zulu Prince will soon hear their fate.

It has been three years since the untimely death of Prince Lethukuthula Zulu. He passed away due to a cocaine overdose.

The four women accused of his murder, Tshegofatso Moremane, Gontse Thloele, Margaret Koaile, and Portia Mmola appeared at the Johannesburg High Court on Wednesday where Judge Molebuheng Mdalana-Mayisela was due to hand down judgment on the matter but it was postponed for Thursday.

The four accused are facing charges of murder, theft, and possession of drugs after they allegedly drugged the prince. The four women were allegedly part of a syndicate that drugged and robbed people at night clubs. His body was found in his flat at Graceland Complex in Northwood, Randburg.

It took the police a week to arrest the suspects. There were five at the time including one male. The accused were arrested in Pretoria in November 2020 after stolen items were found at their residence, and they were arrested in Tshwane.

The late Prince Zulu is the son of the late AmaZulu King Goodwill Zwelithini ka Bhekuzulu. He was 50 when he died in November 2020. Before his untimely death, he had been at a nightclub, where he allegedly met the four women.

Before the matter moved to the High Court, state prosecutor Advocate Yusuf Baba told the court that they believed that the suspects were part of a syndicate that had been going around drugging and stealing from people for the past three years in areas such as Benoni and Tshwane.

It was alleged that the Prince was at the club, and when it was time to go home it was suggested that they should take the party at home with them.

The ladies were allegedly happy to join in on the party that started at Cosmo City then continued at Eagle Grove complex in Honeydew. This happened during Covid-19 when the curfew was in place.

The four accused have previously denied any involvement about the death of Prince Zulu

The state prosecutor, Advocate Sifiso Khumalo, on Wednesday told the court that the case was postponed for judgment.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane says the judgment was rolled over to Thursday.

“This is due to the Judge’s unavailability as she had another matter to deal with. The judgment will happen on Thursday on this matter. Tshegofatso Moremane, Gontse Thloele, Margaret Koaile, and Portia Mmola were of a syndicate that allegedly drugged and robbed people and Prince Lethukuthula was one of their victims and lost his life during the commission of the alleged offence.”
