Controversial man of the cloth Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has launched an app where people can attend his sermons virtually.

The founder of Enlightenment Christian Gathering Church (ECG) announced on Monday that thousands of congregants joined him online on Sunday and that a number of those will view his preaching on the app called Major 1 Connect.

“We finally launched the ECG Online Church with over 7000 people participating on the video conference and 6 million viewers watching. Next week, we will take in 30,000 people on the video LIVE conferencing via MAJOR 1 CONNECT App. Watch this video till the end and give us your views! [sic],” he shared on Instagram.

According to the information on Major 1 Connect, there are monthly and yearly subscription options. Prices are said to vary according to one’s location because the church has branches across Southern Africa.

South African worshippers will have to part ways with R80 a month to subscribe to Major 1 Connect.

Bushiri first introduced the app earlier this year on his YouTube channel. However, since people are not able to gather for sermons due to the lockdown regulations, it’s proven to be worthwhile – if numbers are anything to go by.

His followers who have downloaded the app are singing its praises.
