Musa Motha enjoyed walking around London with Yusuf Stevens and speaking his home language with the rest of The Morning Show crew.

His tear-jerking performance on Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) earned him a standing ovation, the first ever group golden buzzer from the judges and all-round cheers from audiences.

Dressed in a yellow suit, the amputee put on a show as he danced to the beats of Naughty Boy’s Runnin’ (Lose It All) featuring Beyoncé and Arrow Benjamin.

Just like that, the Sebokeng-born Musa Motha won the hearts of many across the world.

Although he did not win the TV competition’s 16th season, he walked away with something he would not trade for anything.

“I have gained more love in UK, I have received a number of performance invitations,” Musa tells Drum.

Going into the competition, his eyes were not entirely on winning.

His main goal which he believes he still reached “was to stretch my hand and touch people’s lives, not only touch their lives but change their lives and show them that nothing is impossible.”

Ever since then, Musa says he has won awards and has been nominated on huge platforms that he never thought he’d be recognised on.

While he was still a runner-up in the competition, The Morning Show promised to pay him a visit in London during an interview with him and even without a win, the e.tv show crew delivered on their promise.

In celebration of Youth Month, the crew went to London to bring Musa’s story to Mzansi screens to inspire not only the youth but the entire country.

Speaking to Drum about the visit, Musa says, “I felt super special, and the crew made me feel like home was brought to me.”

“I could speak my language and again the conversations we had were authentic, felt relatable. And walking around London was fun,” he adds.

It seems the visit also made him miss home more because he also tells Drum that he plans to come back home soon.

In London, Musa works at a professional dance company, does motivational speeches and tends to his first love; football. He plays professional amputee football for Arsenal.

To him, everything that has fallen into place in his life in the past few months were long time coming.

“It showed that the time I invested in my craft was worth it and God works in His own unique ways,” he says.

It is not the end of good things though because he still wants to bring a dance movie to life and take teaching ballet to leg amputees on crutches to the next level.

In a press statement, The Morning Show promises to show the other side of Musa that people do not know from Monday, 26 June.

“South Africa will get to see some of the inspirational things our golden boy Musa is doing on a global stage. We will be telling Musa’s untold story and you will definitely be blown away by this powerhouse,” says the executive producer, Yusuf Stevens.
