Passion can be a seed that grows in unexpected ways.
There is a man who could easily attest to this. A brother who spent years as a security guard and now the doors to the music industry have opened to him and he is poised to walk through and make an impact.
Marino John Mvala better known as just MJ is a 39-year-old from Schweizer Reneke.
The brother from this small town in the Northwest Province has spent years as a security guard.
He has always had a knack for music and now his passion has become a profession as MJ is gearing up to release his debut offering in the stream of gospel which is where he has found a home for his creativity.

He describes his sound as being, “very comforting and encouraging music.”
“I draw my inspiration from what happens in our daily lives, from both personal experiences and experiences of other people,” he adds.
In his short professional career MJ has worked with Jerry Madubela and he is currently hard at work with Ishmael of Jozi fame.
“When I was performing at Thohoyandou in Limpopo, the people were so responsive, it really showed they were blessed. Also being the first gospel artist signed to Ghetto Ruff is amazing, it shows God can shift and change anything,” he says, recalling his highlight so far.
