She was born with a severe cleft palate that affected her breathing, hearing, and eyesight. Almost every month during her childhood she was in and out of the hospital for checks or operations.
Her fifth and last operation was on her nose to help her breathe better.
Positive and energetic Mbalienhle Modau (23) has long accepted her condition and is living life to the fullest.
