He has only been growing his beard for three years and has since just been trimming it.

His hair, on the other hand, has been growing only for a little over a year and it has already earned him a role on isiXhosa drama series 1802: Love Defies Time.

Realising the greatness that his rich black hair has brought in his life; Motheo has now started a beard grooming hair care brand called Royal beards.

The actor and IT support manager shares six tips on how to groom your beard to your satisfaction.

1.       Be Patient

-          Not everyone’s beard will grow at the same speed.

2.       Appreciate length of beard you have

-           Just appreciate the length of beard you have because ultimately, not everyone will have the same beard. The factors that come into play are genes and we may not necessarily have the same kind of genetics so we won’t have the same beard growth outcomes.

3.       Take charge of your diet

-          The kind of food to eat should contain vitamin C and spending some time in the sun to get vitamin D. You could do protein and getting your nutrients from fruits and vegetables is the best.

4.       Exercise

-          You need to exercise to boost up your testosterone levels because it pretty much contributes to your beard growth journey.

5.       Stay hydrated

-           Drinking water as much as possible is very much crucial and hydrating the beard itself and keeping it moisturized using those purely natural oils and butters for your beard and no chemicals.

6.       Rest

-          Beards want to rest. You need to rest otherwise you’re going to get stressed and it causes a lot of breakage as well if you don’t rest properly and you don’t reach the testosterone level that you require.
